Our Vision
Hamagin DG Innovation Fund Investment Limited Partnership
Hamagin DG Innovation Fund was co-founded in February 2021 by Digital Garage, DG Incubation, and The Bank of Yokohama with the aim of investing in venture companies with technologies and services that contribute to open innovation in finance-related industries and the revitalization of the local economy, and creating a variety of information, knowledge, technologies, and expertise that will lead to the future advancement of financial and non-financial services.
The Fund invests in startups with technologies and services that contribute to open innovation in finance-related industries, and promotes the creation of services and solutions using new technologies in the fields of settlement and digital marketing.
We also support the acceleration of growth of investee companies and the open innovation of financial institutions by providing a platform for innovation to stimulate economic activity in Kanagawa and Tokyo.

Management and marketing support

The Team

Masahiko Maekawa
Managing Director
Masahiko joined DG Incubation in 2021 to make further contributions to the development of startup investments after establishing Japan Post Capital, where, as a Senior Managing Director, he led large investments including mercari, inc., Sansan, Inc., and SmartNews, Inc. Prior to that, he managed the IPOs of Japan Post Group and handled the Sponsorship of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games at Japan Post Holdings Co., Ltd. Before that, he was an Economist and Analysts at the variety of financial institutions. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from Kyoto University.

Jun Kojima
Director
Jun joined Digital Garage in 2020. Previously, he was at Japan Post Capital, leading investments from origination to execution. Prior to joining Japan Post Capital, he spent five years at Manulife Asset Management and Manulife Insurance Co., where he was responsible for investment performance as a portfolio manager. His prior experience also includes Visa Worldwide, where he engaged with senior executives in the bank to discuss, inter alia, strategy, earnings, balance sheet composition, funding and risk profile, and both Japanese and foreign financial institutions. He holds a B.A. from the University of Sydney and a Master’s degree from the University of Technology Sydney.

Yo Maeda
Manager
Yo is temporarily assigned to DG Incubation from The Bank of Yokohama, Ltd., starting May 2023. After graduating from Tokyo Metropolitan University, he joined The Bank of Yokohama, Ltd. as a new graduate. He was in charge of loans to individuals and corporations as well as credit management and collection and was engaged in new client development and consulting support.
